Fresh ingredients: tomatoes, half a green pepper, carrot, mozzarella, basil, optional; substitute ham or bacon
Stored ingredients: garlic, pesto sauce, pasta (eg penne)
Putting extra salt, cook the pasta until it's really al dente (i.e. still firm) and then stop it cooking with lots of cold water.
Chop four or five ripe tomatoes into smithereens, do the same to half a green pepper, put them in a bowl and add a grated carrot.
Chop up a mozzarella cheese, and if you've pseudobacon or ham substitute chop up three or four slices of that too.
Add olive oil, black pepper, a handful of fresh basil, four teaspoons of pesto sauce, crushed garlic (as little or much as you like)... oh, and the pasta of course, and mix it all up.
Penne (quills) or similar.
