This page gives you an idea of the sort of stuff that
we stock up on when we go shopping... most of the recipes here rely on
only one or two additional fresh ingredients like veg and cream. We
buy organic products as far as possible, which nowadays is more or
less everything except for the meat substitutes.

Pans Many recipes that are cooked on a low heat for a long
time come very nicely in a heavy earthenware or cast iron pot, but are nearly as good
done in a saucepan with a lid as long as you make sure they don't get stuck to the
bottom. It's also useful to have a large frying pan with a loose-fitting lid, which doesn't
have to be bought like that of course (we use the lid of a big saucepan).
