aren't any logos, so for now you'll have to try a bit harder to spot
us :) Last week's back-to-back shenanigans was hUJely enjoyable
- this week we celebrate Gorfy's birthday. Offers of help for setting up and flyering still
gratefully received ;) - especially as the lift still isn't
working!!! AND MY PIX FROM LAST

How can it just keep getting better and
better you ask?
Well
it’s finally here! After a month of debating who we should have down
to take part in the Boy’s Show we think that you will pleased. So
below (with their dates) are the four Boys for July!
STEVE MAYNARD - JULY
10
- Holding his first residency at Byte and
having regular sets at both Frantic and Insekt, two of London most
talked about nights, Steve Maynard kicks off the Boy’s Show in July.
Having recently been picked as Justin Bourne’s Star of the Future he
is going from strength to strength. Also having recently been in the
Studio with Alex Calver and had his first tune released on Hard
Sounds (George-e and Steve Maynard - Freaking it) this opener is not
to be missed!
JAMES NARDI - JULY
17 – As
one of the promoters for Insekt, James is now becoming a name on the
scene known for his excellently programmed warm up sets. Having also
just been tipped by Pete Wardman as DJ/Producer to watch out for (DJ
Mag), James has also confirmed his tour of Australia and New Zealand
in September. He is known for his production as one half of
Aftermath and Killerhurts having every release signed to either
Tripoli Trax, 999, Short Circuit and Tonka Trax to name a few. Now
playing at Twist we get to see the other side of James that doesn’t
normally come out!
MARC JOHNSON –
JULY 24 – A guy that needs no introduction! Having been on
the scene longer than most and is still here Marc was someone that
we couldn't resist having play at the Boys Show. He recently
returned from his tour in Japan, Marc is now concentrating of his UK
gigs as well as his own night Insekt and his Australian tour in
October. Having just had his two latest releases signed to Vicious
Circle as a AA side and a further 5 tracks put on the "I love VC"
album and his mixing skills that are off the hook we can’t wait for
Marc to play at TWIST!
TOM BASQUIL –
JULY 31 – Not a familiar face on the
scene, yet! Tom’s debut set in London was back at Farleytime in
2002. However Tom then stepped back from the Djing to concentrate on
his production. Now a few years on and he returned at the Frantic’s
Hard House Heaven night at Heaven playing back2back with Twist
resident Karim, who also tips Tom as a Star of the Future. Having
also just finished his latest tune ‘Evil Streak’ and has also just
remixed ‘Hardcore Poison, we suggest that this guys showcase is not
to be
missed!
Since moving into our new improved multi
layered home of Factory 4
weeks ago the response has been fantastic.
We have installed the German Audio Engineering sound
system that we also installed into the Fridge and Fire but the venue
just seems so suited to the Twist crowd. They really have taken to
it like ducks to water.
One of the biggest advantages we
have now the weather is getting better and better is the fantastic
outdoor grass verge which becomes the unofficial Twist après party!
Over 100 people are regularly
staying on each
week and chilling
out well into the afternoon.
It really is the most relaxing and social way to
spend a Sunday late morning/afternoon!
This is the last weekend in the Twist
'Girlyshow' season ! Next week is the start of
the 'Boys Club' so watch this space for more
news!!!

We've made up A3 posters as shown on the left,
featuring the flyer fronts which are nearly double (in area terms)
the original size - i.e. just under A5. We're going to be using them
for promotion, so keep an eye out for them around.
We're sure that people are going to want their
own copies too, but they cost us too much just to give away
so we're going to be selling them at hUJe both plain and
laminated (so you can get them home without destroying them).
Prices are £2 plain (3 for a fiver) £3.50 laminated (3 for
£9). |
