Yes - Friday night once again (SEE YELLOW
TEXT BELOW FOR DISCOUNT ENTRY); this month we're back upstairs in
the main room in Mass - look out for yourself in the projections...
21 hours of partying in Brixton and this time 12 guest DJs brought
in to join the hUJe family and play in B2B Beauty and Beast pairs!
Offers of help for setting up and
flyering still gratefully received ;) - especially as the lift still
isn't working!!! This is the last Friday
night before we take a break for the summer - and there's only one
more Saturday after this.

In this week's mail (weekend of Friday 15 July)
So this Friday night is hUJe Beauties & Beasts, then we carry
on at Essential (our between-party) where hUJe is represented by
Kris Noble, then back to Mass for the second instalment. The music
through both our sessions is going to be extra special. If you
don't know Julez - who you might have met at the hUJe
Easter Rush - read this interview on niteclubbers.net.
Assuming we can still stand, we play opening set in 3way afterwards;
after that, who knows?! Check the upcoming events for info on Total
Mayhem and Menthol next week.
If you're on our SMS mailing list
you should already have received a text for discount entry on Friday
- if you didn't get it then please reply with your mobile number
which has probably changed! Alternatively - follow this link, print off the voucher
and bring it for £5 entry before 11pm on Friday. You can put more
than one name & address on the voucher if you like.
Next special dates for your diary:
Saturday July 23rd - last hUJe for the
summer
Yes, we've been ready for a break for a while and we've got so
much to try to squeeze in that we're knocking off a week earlier
than originally planned - so Saturday next week, when we celebrate
the Monkey boys' birthdays, will be the last one.
Check out what people are saying about hUJe on HarderFaster (and
join in if you're an HF member!):
I finally got my pictures from last month's hUJe Friday night
onto the internet - I've actually put up a joint set including pix
from Hawkeye too.

Music to put a smile on your feet - energetic uplifting hard
dance - in surroundings you won't recognise.
In July we'll be transforming Mass main room again - this time
into a garden to go with our DJ theme that runs through Friday night
and Saturday day: Beauties and Beasts with the DJs paired up for
back-to-back sets all the way through... twelve DJs join the family
for a session to remember. Another hUJe production including an even
better light and colour laser show, video projections featuring the
hUJe crowd, our exclusive fab UV decor, massage, laughing gas, one
or two additional surprises... and of course the unique hUJe vibe.
We'd been getting such a lot of grief about more
night-time parties from hUJe people that can't make it along to
Saturday afternoons, that we had to find a more regular way of
putting them on. We'll carry on doing Saturday afternoon each week,
and 18 hour specials from time to time, but we've also started a
regular Friday night event - one per month, on the third Friday.
We've arranged with Essential at Club 414 for them to be our
official between-party so that you can carry on partying with us in
central Brixton right through from Friday night to Saturday
evening.
As well as the full-on night-time party-vibe of the 18 hour
specials and creating a unique environment with our individual
decor, we'll be bringing in our laughing gas and tea stall and the
renowned NRG light & colour laser show by Clubtek.it to drive the
dancefloor. On top of all this there are video projections (this
month featuring pictures from previous hUJe parties) and a
professional masseur.

How can it just keep getting better and better you ask?
Well it’s finally here!
After a month of debating who we should have down to take part in
the Boy’s Show we think that you will pleased. So below (with their
dates) are the remaining Boys for July!
JAMES NARDI - JULY 17– As
one of the promoters for Insekt, James is now becoming a name on the
scene known for his excellently programmed warm up sets. Having also
just been tipped by Pete Wardman as DJ/Producer to watch out for (DJ
Mag), James has also confirmed his tour of Australia and New Zealand
in September. He is known for his production as one half of
Aftermath and Killerhurts having every release signed to either
Tripoli Trax, 999, Short Circuit and Tonka Trax to name a few. Now
playing at Twist we get to see the other side of James that doesn’t
normally come out!
MARC JOHNSON –
JULY 24 – A guy that needs no introduction! Having been on
the scene longer than most and is still here Marc was someone that
we couldn't resist having play at the Boys Show. He recently
returned from his tour in Japan, Marc is now concentrating of his UK
gigs as well as his own night Insekt and his Australian tour in
October. Having just had his two latest releases signed to Vicious
Circle as a AA side and a further 5 tracks put on the "I love VC"
album and his mixing skills that are off the hook we can’t wait for
Marc to play at TWIST!
TOM BASQUIL –
JULY 31 – Not a familiar face on the
scene, yet! Tom’s debut set in London was back at Farleytime in
2002. However Tom then stepped back from the Djing to concentrate on
his production. Now a few years on and he returned at the Frantic’s
Hard House Heaven night at Heaven playing back2back with Twist
resident Karim, who also tips Tom as a Star of the Future. Having
also just finished his latest tune ‘Evil Streak’ and has also just
remixed ‘Hardcore Poison, we suggest that this guys showcase is not
to be
missed!
Since moving into our
new improved multi layered home of
Factory 4 weeks ago the
response has been fantastic.
We have installed the German Audio Engineering sound
system that we also installed into the Fridge and Fire but the venue
just seems so suited to the Twist crowd. They really have taken to
it like ducks to water.
One of the biggest advantages we
have now the weather is getting better and better is the fantastic
outdoor grass verge which becomes the unofficial Twist après party!
Over 100 people are regularly staying on each week and chilling out
well into the afternoon. It really is the most relaxing and social
way to spend a Sunday late
morning/afternoon!

We've made up A3 posters as shown on the left,
featuring the flyer fronts which are nearly double (in area terms)
the original size - i.e. just under A5. We're going to be using them
for promotion, so keep an eye out for them around.
We're sure that people are going to want their
own copies too, but they cost us too much just to give away
so we're going to be selling them at hUJe both plain and
laminated (so you can get them home without destroying them).
Prices are £2 plain (3 for a fiver) £3.50 laminated (3 for
£9). |
